The aim of the project is to deepen understanding of the institutionalized fostering of values in Nordic preschools at the theoretical, methodological, and empirical levels.
The network wich includes the Nordic countries Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Finland will provide interdisciplinary studies on the impact of school lunches on health and learning conditions among children in a Nordic setting.
This study is about Cognitive Foundation Skills (CFS) in the adult populations aged 16-65 in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. CFS is here defined as literacy, numeracy and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) problem solving skills.
The project will approach educational inclusion from a holistic and an intersectional perspective highlighting ethnicity, social class, gender, and educational needs when comparing the three cities: Helsinki, Reykjavik and Amsterdam.
The Nordic Centre of Excellence «Quality in Nordic Teaching» (QUINT) will focus on teaching quality in Nordic classrooms asking questions like: In what way does teaching make a difference to student learning and engagement across and within school subjects, with and without digital-rich support, in mono- and multi-cultural contexts across the Nordic countries? How can classroom videos be effective tools for teacher training? Does the use of video-technology and other digital systems generate potential for new forms of collaborative research between researchers and practitioners?
Current societal changes put pressure on the values and political ideals underlying the Nordic democratic educational project and its practical realisation. JustED focuses on the crucial question: How do systems, cultures and actors in education facilitate and constrain justice in the context of globalising Nordic welfare states?

Pigerne udkonkurrerer i stigende grad drengene i de nordiske landes uddannelsessystemer. Hvilke konsekvenser kan det få for mænds sundhed, for velfærdssamfundet og arbejdslivet i Norden i fremtiden? Disse spørgsmål blev diskuteret på seminaret “Gender Gaps in Nordic Educational Achievement”, som blev afholdt i Oslo.
The project aims to contribute to inclusive science education through studying teachers' classroom work across educational contexts, when provided with innovative tools to explore new literacy approaches and integrate them in planning of their inclusive lessons.
