Law enforcement methods have changed dramatically with the rise of big data. Police work used to consist of data collection and traditional intelligence gathering. Now, it involves greater use of big data, face recognition, surveillance and other data-driven tools.
The final decision has now been taken on which projects will be awarded a total of EUR 7.4 million under the Research and Innovation Programme on Digitalisation of the Public Sector.
The CAPE – Civic Agency in Public E-service innovation – project addresses these issues, regarding both improvement of current e-services, and releasing the potential in user-driven development of future services.

The SOS project offers a comparative mapping of information-processing and communicative aspects of informal welfare work across three welfare sectors. Informal welfare work is unpaid support of citizens in his/her interactions with welfare state institutions and actors.
NORDeHEALTH aims to give patients online access to their electronic health records (PAEHR) and increase self-management and transparencyin healthcare. The goal is to enable further digitalization of the public health sector by providing concrete feedback to the national. authorities in the respective countries, provide guidelines and frameworks for design, implementation and evaluation of personal eHealthservices (PeHS).
NordForsk is issuing a call for proposals for Digitalisation of the Public Sector. The call has a budget of EUR 8 million and the deadline for the call for proposals is 16 January 2020.
At the same time NordForsk is happy to announce that the United Kingdom has decided to increase its contribution from 1 to 2 million GBP. The plan is to fund up to 10 research and innovation projects.
