Inclusive Education Across Borders

NordForsk’s Education for Tomorrow programme, together with the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO), is announcing EUR 2.25 million in funding for Nordic-Dutch research collaboration on inclusion in pre-primary and primary education. Application deadline is 4 April 2017.

The thematic area for this joint call for proposals is inclusion in pre-primary and primary education with a focus on teaching and learning for children and students in need of special support. Projects are required to incorporate cooperation between researchers and research-oriented practitioners.

Eligible participants

The scheme is open to researchers based at universities, university colleges, universities of applied sciences and research institutes in one of the participating countries in collaboration with practitioners in educational institutions. Each project must involve participation from the Netherlands and at least two Nordic countries.

Following the preannouncement of the call, Denmark has decided to participate in the collaboration with funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. This means that researchers and practitioners based at Danish institutions are eligible to apply.

Financial framework

The total available budget for the call is EUR 2.25 million. Applicants are invited to apply for funding for projects with a value of EUR 500 000 – EUR 750 000 and a duration of 36 months. Applicants are required to provide an own contribution of at least 20 per cent on top of the sum applied for. 

Participating partners

This call is a joint effort between the Academy of Finland, the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO), the Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Research Council, and NordForsk.
